Aston University is a popular choice for international students.Each year, students from over 130 countries join Aston, living in a lively, safe andfriendly communityin the heart of Birmingham – the UK’s second largest city.
Founded in 1895 and granted its Royal Charter in 1966, Aston is an established research-led university, known for its outstanding reputation, world-class teaching standard and strong links to industry, government and commerce. Accommodation

Aston guarantees all International students university accommodation for the duration of their studies.
All accommodation is recently built, of high standard and located on campus.All flats have their private bathroom facilities, telephones, central heating and launderettes. The accommodation is self-catering allowing students to eat the food they want, any time they want.Rent includes all utility costs and communal cleaning charges, making budgeting easy. The Residential Services team is also available 24/7, providing care and support to students.

Student Life

  • Aston University provides all the necessary facilities and services that students could need:
  • a well-equipped library, open 7 days a week, with a wide variety of resources and opportunity to borrow a lap top for the day
  • An active Students Union, which organises a variety of events and activities

  • Healthcare and welfare support including dentist, opticians, health drop-in centre and counselling
  • Various eating outlets
  • A large range of sports facilities including two large sports halls, a 120 station gym and fitness suite, climbing wall, large aerobics room, squash courts, sports pitch and a very special historic Grade II listed 25m swimming pool.

The city of Birmingham

Birmingham is a vibrant and exciting city and there is something of interest for everyone. Everywhere is easily accessible, with the majority of city centre based facilities within walking distance of each other. Shopping facilities include the £500 million Bullring shopping mall; home to the iconic Selfridges store, the 1,000 stall Bullring market and a compact pedestrian shopping centre.
Birmingham has a large concentration of live theatre, cinemas, museums, art galleries, exhibition centres and arena venues for live music and other events. For sporting action Birmingham has both Aston Villa and Birmingham City football clubs with their home grounds within the city.
There are many events and festivals in Birmingham students could attend in their free time such as the International Jazz festival, Comedy festival, International Carnival and Art fests.
When eating out, students can choose from a large variety of different cuisines, from classic Italian restaurants to Mongolian wok bars, Birmingham has something on offer for every taste.
