Brunel, along with a number of other prestigious universities such as Bath, Warwick and Loughborough, became a university in the 1960s. Now, as a University of over 35 years’ standing, 12,000 students and four campuses, it offers more to its students than ever before.
The following highlights show why Brunel University is now one of the most optimistic, ambitious and forward-looking universities in the country.
If you want to sample the delights of one of the greatest cities in the world, but are daunted by the prospect of living there – the high cost, the noise, the sheer number of people – Brunel offers an ideal compromise. Its relaxed, traffic-free campuses are located on the western edge of the capital. All four campuses (at Uxbridge, Twickenham, Osterley and Runnymede) offer a pleasant environment and the benefits of on-site facilities and accommodation within striking distance of the Capital, Heathrow, and the national motorway campus.
A number of places in the University Flats and Halls of Residence are reserved for full-time international and home postgraduate students. In addition, there are a limited number of studio flats suitable only for couples (married or in a long-term relationship) without children. Accommodation is allocated for periods not in excess of one academic year, after which time students will normally move off campus.
You will be sent an accommodation application form together with your offer of a place on a course at Uxbridge or Runnymede. The completed form should be returned to the Accommodation Office at Uxbridge and will be dealt with once you have confirmed acceptance of your place and met the conditions of your course.
Even students who have studied before – particularly if they have worked for a number of years prior to returning to university – may find that returning as a postgraduate throws up unexpected problems. At Brunel, we try to help you adjust to living and working here, whatever your background. There are many helping hands to give you guidance on academic, personal, and financial or health matters.
