Profile
With a history dating back 150 years, Royal Holloway has been a member College of the University of London since 1900. The College is proud of its excellent reputation for both teaching and research. With so many staff working at the forefront of their fields we are able to offer students a dynamic environment in which many of the latest innovations and developments permeate into their studies.


The subject areas offered to undergraduates and postgraduates include: Biochemistry, Biology, Classics, Computer Science, Drama, Theatre and Media Arts, Economics, English, Environmental Studies, French, Geography, Geology, German, History, Italian, Management, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Psychology, Social and Political Science and Spanish. We also offer a variety of joint and interdisciplinary degree programmes.
Each year a number of scholarships are made available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Facilities
Students benefit from having academic, recreational and residential facilities located on a single campus. There are three libraries and a Computer Centre offers 24-hour access to students. An International Building opened in the Autumn of 1998. The Students' Union is at the heart of the social scene on campus. The Union boasts a 1,200 capacity entertainment venue and coordinates over 130 clubs and societies. Among the sports facilities on offer are numerous playing fields, tennis and squash courts, a small sports hall.

Accommodation & Welfare
Places in College residences are available to all overseas students for the normal duration of their course. Accommodation ranges from the Victorian Founder's Building to modern residences with en-suite facilities. An Orientation Programme is provided at the start of the year. Welfare services are coordinated by the Dean of Students. There is also a Medical Centre providing 24-hour in-patient facilities.

Location
Royal Holloway is located at Egham in Surrey, 20 miles from the centre of London. The parkland campus is dominated by the magnificent Founder's Building. Windsor Great Park and the River Thames at Runnymede are both within walking distance. The journey by train to central London takes half an hour. Heathrow International Airport is a short bus or taxi ride away.
