Aston guarantees all international students a room on campus for the duration of their studies. These single-study rooms offer excellent value-for-money as all heating, lighting and cleaning bills are included in the price.

Although the university does not offer campus accommodation for married couples or families, the Accommodation Office can offer advice on looking for suitable accommodation in the local area. We strongly advise you to come on your own initially and send for your family once you have settled down and founded suitable accommodation.

Your expenses will vary depending on your lifestyle and the type of accommodation you choose, but the cost of living in the West Midlands is generally lower than many other areas of the UK. As a guide, we recommend £ 500 per month to cover accommodation, books, clothes, local travel and spending money.

Most Aston’s Masters programmes are only 12 months in duration (some are 10 months) and this offers considerable savings when compared to other countries where Masters programmes can take 2 years to complete. MPhil programmes usually take 2 years to complete while PHD/DBA programmes take 3 years to complete.
